Secrets

A poem I wrote with no one to dedicate it to yet.

I want to hold you close
As you tell me your secrets
And I tell you mine
I want to be with you always
When you laugh &when you cry
I want to be part of your dreams
As you are all of mine
I want to shout that I love you
And hear my love returned
I want to whisper that I need you
And hear an echo of the same

And when we've run out of words
I want to revel in the silence
Feeling no need for shouts or whispers
Resting in a simple place
Where whatever's left to say
Can be said with a look...or a touch...
But, finally, above all
I want you to hold me close
Until there are no secrets
And I know that here, in your arms
I am safe from all the world
And happy to be loved by you
