Can’t we pretend
that this isn’t the end
rather the beginning
of a song we were singing.

The stitch in time
when I found my rhyme
and you gave me my voice
but left me no choice.

There are roads we don’t take
and choices we make
the lovers we’ve had
and the ones we forsake.

I still dream of the day
