Art is in the eye ...

One man's palette
is an assortment
of stained buckets of house-paint
into which he plops his brush
with no worries as it spills out
and then flings the paint
onto his king-sized bed sheet.

One woman's palette
is an assortment
of black and white ivories
onto which she places her fingers
with great care to place them just right
and then lets them run wild
over her melodic keyboard.

One child's palette
is an assortment
of rainbow Crayolas
from which he selects the right yellow
with thoughtful deliberation
and then colors in a field of daisies
in his beloved coloring book.

One woman's palette
is an assortment
of oils and acrylics
into which she dips her feather brush
with steady determination
and then leafs out a mighty oak
onto her stretched canvas.

One man's palette
is an assortment
of lettered computer keys
onto which he pours his soul
with correct grammar of course
and dreams of writing
the great American novel.
