When death takes our friends, it also takes part of us

I feel your pain.
I know your grief.
Where you are now
I too have lingered.
Wrapped in the shroud of sadness

Left only with the memories of yesteryear.
'If only' I had not put off
That visit which I promised.
'If only' I had known there was so little time
I would have told her yet again
How very much I loved her.
Her friendship meant so much to me
And I will cherish that for ever.

But God decided she had suffered
More than her fair share
He took her in His arms to give
Her eternal care.

At peace, at rest,
Without pain, without fear.

She's waiting for the time she can tell you,
That she knew all those things you wanted to say
Because she would have loved to say them too
But God needed her
And she could not stay.
