*For those who are clueless, Sideless Surcotes are dresses created in 14th century Italy, called "The Gates of Hell". They are loose-fitting, sleeveless gowns with wide sleeve holes down to the hips, under which were worn tight-fitting under dresses that showed off the female form. This was the first time that the female body could be seen through a woman's clothing (it was loose-fitting and meant to hide the female form before this) , which is why it was called "The Gates of Hell" because it was said that the Sideless Surcote would tempt men into lascivious ways. They're much more comfortable than those blasted corsets.
