Old Friends

Finding someone that was lost to you

there was a time in my life when things were bad
i felt alone with not a soul in my corner
i was slowly sinking into a bottomless pit
with no hope of return
out of the blue a kind soul appears
allowing me to feed on their strength
giving me hope and direction
i focus on my life and begin again
my friend is lost to me
but never out of my thoughts or prayers
years later
