Jab is a man that played with Stan. They called themselves the Woodby's.

School teacher by day,
Musician by night,
Cared a lot about both.

During the day,
He taught junior high
with a passion to teach
as well as to comfort the students
when the time came.

Then in the evenings,
he would use his leather strap
that held his guitar close to him,
And he would belt out the folk songs
That made him and his partner in song, Stan,
So famous in the coffee house circuit.

I convinced my then boyfriend,
To come see this group perform.
And from that Saturday night forward
We were hooked.

Hooked into a following that was contagious
With laughter and fun.
Jab having that infectious smile
That nobody but him
can ever pale in comparison.

It has been many years now,
I know not what he is doing,
The Woodby's broke up,
And we all went our seperate directions.

But I will never forget the infectious smile
Of Jab the guitar and his leather strap.
He was the funny man.
While Stan was more businesslike.
It worked because their fan base kept growing
Until the very end and then we all wept
Knowing that it was an end of a great era
In the coffee house circuit.
