Sapphire Eyes

A poem written about my true love and best friend.

Eyes like sapphire
Deep and all knowing
Those scolding eyes I know all too well
If I look hard enough
Deep enough into those eyes
Maybe I can find the love I gave you
The love I miss
The love I want back
You deserve it more than I
I who so foolishly gave it away
Away to someone who never wanted it in the first place
Soft, serene
Sapphire eyes
Take me away
To the depths of your soul
To places never explored
To paradise
In your soft, serene, sapphire eyes.
