A love poem to my wife on Valentine's Day |
| You smiled at me You smiled at me when I was young And made my heart beat fast The words that lingered on my tongue, "This one could really last" A lipstick smear was on my glass A teasing wink from you And in my heart I asked myself, "Whatever shall I do?" And so a cup of chocolate In old downtown Fort Worth And little did we realize That love was seeking birth And so the decades come and go Three-and-a-half have past And every time you smile at me My heartbeat still gets fast |
