Outlawpoet contest: School/Peace


Escape

School was my escape
from the hell at home.
The divorced parents,
arguing constantly
over custody of their children.

There I found peace
and understanding,
from teachers
who knew the pain
I felt at home.

The peace was amazing.
I could be me
my true self,
not fighting for time,
in between my parents emotions and fights.
