You take in my cup of feeling

A poem in work

If all I am
If all my being
Was condensed
Into a cup of feeling

Could you bear?
Could you take in?
The all of my essence
With all of my sin

Would it last?
Would it be unending?
Or does my soul
Need better tending?

This glass of life
Holds my meaning
And pass your lips
To find its cleaning

Are you less pure?
Am I your corruption?
The filter left dirtied
By human consumption

Yet still you drink
I feel you worsen
Changing and twisting
Into a total new person

And together we are
So vile and depraved
Our souls conjoined
Forever enslaved
