Inspired by my best friend and her brother's eyes when their parents were arguing.

The Eyes I See

As the voices rise
I see tears in their eyes.
One is full of hurt
The other, full of pain.

Their parents can't understand
What harm their words cause.
If they could only see
The eyes I see.

Would the words come so rash,
Would the anger pass?
If they could see
The eyes I see.

It is a simple thing really,
To think before you speak.
Just look and see
The eyes I see.
