in need of a human voice

In need of talk
I choose silence
Seeking joy,
I put on a frown.
Looking for peace
I pace
And sigh.

How are you?
I’m a fine
Shade of midnight blue;

Even the past doesn’t pick up the phone.
Should I write instead?
Paper stares
Never giving reply;
I’m tired of rereading the words
I spill out and out
Before sending them away
Impersonal.
