July Summer Fun

The summer sun
warms the earth
and draws the children out
for fun and games.

Their parents gather
with them for picnics
and ball games
at parks and beaches.

The kites fly high
as the children run free
through the sand,
looking back and upward
to watch their kites soar.

July is a time to be allowed
to roam around and dream
under the few puffy, white clouds
in the blue skies overhead.

Children look forward
to the morning so they can
go run and play
through the sprinklers
and other water fun.

They ride their bikes,
play with friends.
Giggles and laughter
can be heard
up and down
the streets.

July is a happy time --
a joyful period
when children can just be
themselves and dream
the warm days away.

It is okay for them
to let time go by,
as they enjoy
being loud and laughing lots.
