Life 1 Me 0
Since, life as a game,
seems to keep its own score
I hope I could gain a point,
even a goal, or maybe more.
Yet when I make a move,
I seem to be in check.
I run for the goal line,
but keep being put in check.
There are grass stains on my knees
and bruises on my shins,
I think I am getting ahead,
I might even win!
