The children hang crucified
It is finished.
It is finished!
They know not what was done to them,
Spreading their arms out
To embrace the world,
Only to find them bound by nails
Biting deep,
Bleeding wounds.
They cannot heal
As long as spikes remain,
Imbedded in straining wrists.
Heads hanging listless now.
They only resign to pain
And imprisonment of nails,
Until spirits flee
And all that is left for us to do
Is bury them
In the dust.
