Who is forsaken and why do you grieve? Loosely-rhymed sonnet.
The Forsaken Ones


Forsaken are the ones for whom you grieve.
They stand outside the circle that you've made.
You built it from the stories you believe
and think that there are some who can't be saved.

But recognize the power you provide...
It's not too late to find your inner voice.
If they're alive, speak up -- they're still alive!
If they've passed on, speak kindly and rejoice.

You've taken time to read this simple verse.
You'll never get it back, but don't regret...
Take everything you've learned -- the best and worst --
and put it into something worth your breath.

I don't expect that you would understand
unless you're doing everything you can.
