Living In Memory
A half empty glass of scotch and melted ice.
A record skipping in the background.

         Telephone off the hook...beeping.
Her picture at my feet...torn in pieces.

With each look at the picture I try to remember.
With each sip of scotch I try to forget.

         I cry as I remember.
         I ache when I forget.

Sometimes I forget to remember.
Sometimes I remember to forget.

         I forget the difference.
         I remember only the pain.
