Not so positive about this continent but relevant

This drug called Africa

its hallucination of promise
and highs of falsehood

violence and corruption a side effect
death its inevitable outcome

sickness contaminating
forlorn hopes of change

withdrawals racking our being
cold sweats repelling foreign body

rendering immunity defunct
inviting infection without cure

futures seen through blooded eyes
self-infliction the scourge

self pity the result
self help the answer
