Tying my shoes

A lesson in shoe tying or wish it was velcro

Laces on shoes, I ask you ,why Mother?
Velcro or slips-ons don't cause such a bother;
But my shoes have laces, oh what shall I do?
If they don't get done up, then off falls a shoe.

Go over and under and then you go through
Such a small thing to cause a to-do;
Now looping with one hand, go round with the other
Then push through, you've got it, was that such a bother?
You just tied a bow, you are ever so clever
You're going to keep learning for ever and ever.
