as I went running from the thing,
that hideous horror from beyond.

cursed book, calling to me?

petrifying me to the very ground.

Abhorrent tome, all rotting, reeking
stink upon my hands. I read its pages
and called that grotesque thing,
vampire from among the stars,

Its bulbous form and many mouths
emitting a bone chilling call to feed.

And, when I heard its gibbering I ran...
