I dreamed away the days of my youth without facing reality.

Lost Dreams

My mind goes back to another time.
Dreams of the future were coming true.
In my youth when all things were fine.
Not a day found me depressed or blue.

Life looked so easy in my young eyes.
The world promised a life with no limits.
The future was mine to have as a prize.
Use the best and discard the remnants.

My imagination was great and ran wild.
I was impatient for tomorrow to come.
Thoughts of a young boy a little child.
Ignoring the days and what was done.

I lived only for my wants and dreams.
I've changed my life I now live in reality,
I regret not living for all the real things,
My dreams held me back in fantasy

If time permits I'll try to make amends.
I'll live for today and not for tomorrow,
I'll start living in reality like other men.
Be willing to take the bad with sorrow.
