Why I Am Thankful

For Desert~Rain's November Contest

Written for novrain1962's poetry contest.

Why I am thankful:

I’m thankful for blessings, friendship and love.
I’m thankful for gifts, sent from above.

For flowers that bloom, then fade away.
For colors of fall, their beauty un-swayed.

Birds singing praises, while nesting in trees.
Sweet tasting honey, produced by the bees.

I’m thankful for family, and love never ending.
I’m thankful for mothers, with ears ever lending.

For life so precious, and children with smiles.
For arriving safely, after so many miles.

God’s love that transcends, throughout time.
Eternally His, all will be fine.
