A short poem created for pre-schoolers to recite for a Sunday School Christmas Program |
| The donkey was so tiny, He carried her on his back. He brought Jesus’ mother. No courage did he lack. The cows gave up their manger, So Jesus could lay down. It was a humble cradle, For one who’d wear a crown. A blanket made from wool, Was given by the sheep. To wrap the Baby Jesus, So He could warmly sleep. Songs did fill the sky that night, The little doves did sing. Their voices echoed strong and sweet, For the tiny, newborn king. The camels walked for many miles, Traveling from afar. Their journey brought three wisemen, Who were following a star. Every animal on that special night, Gave all that they could claim. So on this Christmas Eve, let’s pray That we will do the same. |
