Damn You Janus
two faced doorkeeper,
why can't you just once
close your western eyes and look
only at the rising sun.

Jeckle you thought you were so smart,
but you don't need a doctorate
to know Hyde won't stay hidden
and two halves equal a whole.

And when I finally purged myself
of all distractions, it was easy,
as the breath needed to blow out
a candle.

Without light their is nothing
to cast shadows or to read
the black and white of newspaper
headlines.
