Your past,
Preserved on display
Within the glass of peoples’ minds.
Wishing it wasn’t there and wishing
It would just shatter.
The mistakes of your past,
Leaving shadows on your heart of
What once was.
You constantly wonder:
Why didn’t you climb that mountain?
But stop looking back and turn around.
See that light in the distance?
That’s your way.

The hardships of life,
Cast a shadow on your very soul.
You must climb the mountains you set
By placing goals.
Do it to reach the gleaming light
Waiting on the other side.
At times you’re stopped by an unknown force,
It’s like a pane of unbreakable glass.
It has no way through,
But only around.
And when you do find your way,
You realize,
Your life is anything but plain.
