The Flea

I watched my old dog go after a flea one day.

Oh! How totally happy I would be.
if only I lived on a dog as a flea!
I'd make poor Doggy dig and scratch.
His discomfort no one could match.

I'd be just as terrible as I could be.
Such a nasty, itchy, hungry little flea.
So if you think there's really no harm,
I'll jump off your Doggy and on to your arm.

After wandering through Doggy's thick hair,
I'll make poor Doggy dig himself bare.
Now just the thought of me on your skin,
itching and scratching, what a fix you'll be in!
