Wind, you can just feel it... |
| THE WIND⌠By Lubna Shahab He had no idea what she was thinking but he was sure about his feelings. What he felt for her was something genuine, something so intense that he could not resist the waves disturbing his soul. He sighed; his body had gone in a feverish trance. He kept on watching her. The wind was soft and cool brushing her hair, her smooth face which was peaceful and glowing at the same time. Her closed eyes and small smile left him speechless. âHow such a plain, innocent and simple girl could entice meâ he wondered. He walked near her, hands in his pocket he pecked on her cheek. She blushed, a light shade of crimson spread through her face and coyly she looked at him. Her big brown eyes twinkling with surprise and delight gave the answers to his questions. âWhat do you feel?â he asked. She turned dreamily, facing the setting sun and took in the spectacular beauty. The last rays were cascading the sky. The grand orange ball seemed to be half dipped in vast ocean, letting the light to have its last dance on the swelling and rippling sea. Sea gulls croaking fly over the sea shore. A gust of refreshing wind once again caressed her and she in pure delight wrapped her hands around herself. âWind, like windâŚyou cannot hold it but you can only feel itâ she mumbled dreamily. âWind,â he said as if saying it to himself. âYes, Windâ she said, coming closer to him she continued, âLike wind, love, happiness, they can touch you engulf you but you cannot hold it, just feel it and treasure it, I feel the same wayâŚyour love needs no words I can feel it around me, inside me, like windâŚâ She got breathless when his warm hands embraced her. They stood like this until the sun sets, cuddling and silent for there was no need of words. He felt so calm and tranquil, as if the torment waves inside him have subsided. He now can feel the wind⌠|
