Pantoum for stargazers. Mini-SLAM entry.
It was a summer of blue-black nights
with constellations on parade,
a carousel of spinning lights
above the blanket we had laid.

With constellations on parade,
we sat as voyeurs in the grass.
Above the blanket we had laid,
the nightly carnival would pass.

We sat as voyeurs in the grass
as comets streaked across the sky.
The nightly carnival would pass,
with stars and planets rolling by.

As comets streaked across the sky,
the heavens swept a brilliant arc.
With stars and planets rolling by,
we watched and marveled in the dark.

The heavens swept a brilliant arc,
a carousel of spinning lights.
We watched and marveled in the dark.
It was a summer of blue-black nights.
