This is the way I remember my brother the best.
WHEN I THINK ABOUT MY BROTHER


When I think about my brother,
I think about his back--
the way it wore his winter coat;
the backside of his hat.

When I think about my brother,
I think about his head--
the way it bent to give him strength
as he pulled me on the sled.

When I think about my brother,
I think about the glow
from the Christmas lights in windows
as he'd pull me through the snow.

When I think about my brother,
I think about the track
his feet had made that day that
makes me think about his back.
