Simple Things

Poem written after an arguement with my husband.

I had my feelings hurt today
by one that I hold dear.
He seems to have forgotten me
and why once he held me near?
My sore loss and my sorrow
have left me all alone.
I wonder if I'll be left again,
once me,all on my own?

Oh how I long for companionship,
someone to share a smile.
To relax,enjoy and forget our troubles,
if for just a little while.
Perhaps a small adventure
or a walk along a beach?
It's the little things in life that bring
pure happiness and that's within our reach.

You see I'm just a country girl
who loves the simple things in life.
I found in you a simple man and so
became your wife.
Now all I wish is that we can spend
some simple times again.
To find some time to be together
as lovers and as friends.
