Not Yet

This poem I wrote Apr.21, 2004 I received an Editor's Choice Award from Poetry.com

Here I sit
dazed and confused
with nothing to gain
and nothing to loose

My mind is empty
my soul is frozen
I don't know why
because this is not what I have chosen

I sink deep
I am falling
please help me God
are you calling?

Don't call me yet
for I am not done
help me to help others
so they can have fun

My kids need me
my family and friends too
You'll know when to call me
You'll know what to do.
