This is about my sweet 16 masquerade birthday party |
| Masked figures twirl Round and round Dancing, laughing Making a joyful sound Gifts are unwrapped Hearty thanks are given All the surprises have come But one was still hidden Silence covers the room As an unexpected guest arrives There, in my living room A rose in hand Is the phantom My mother grins At the look on my face I hope the redness Does not show a trace The man in the mask Smiles and hands my the rose Who is this phantom? Only one seems to know After pictures were taken With us side by side He leaves rather quickly And vanishes from sight I will never look at a rose In quite the same way. He left only the rose A smile on my face And a perfect memmory To treasure the rest of my days |
