feelings about the way life has turned out, as opposed to how I imagined it would

I was almost certain
I'd make it one day
That I'd be someone
That I'd find my way -
Where does time go
When you're young and alive
Where did those dreams go,
That passion inside -
All I know is one day they died
As though time just passed me by -

I once had faith
Though I could not see
I once held strength
I once believed
Where did those days go
How did I let them slip by
I see my own face,
Wondering just who am I -

The innocence, the passion
