Should I close my eyes
And dream of you
Of all the things
I thought I knew
Of tender kisses
And stolen time
If I close them tight
Would you be mine?

Should I close my eyes
So you are near
Your breath on my neck
Your voice in my ear
Til morning breaks
And night has gone
Will I open my eyes
And be alone?

Should I close my eyes
And hope in a haze
That you will come
One of these days
Til noon has risen
And the world stops
Til you hear my voice
On every mountaintop?

Should I close my eyes
And love once more
The one I loved
So much before?
Til dusk was upon
The sand and sea
Where every wave
Reminded you of me.

Should I close my eyes
And blindly leap
Back into your arms
Where love was deep
As deep and wide
As every ocean on Earth
Or close my eyes
And await rebirth…
