getting to know me

I guess the Lord made me hard to handle
therefore lovin’ me might be a long shot
So before I can allow you
to get too involved
listen to the word's I speak
go beyond my outer shell
I will tell of the place's I've been
of the many pain's I have suffered
of the heart's I've broken
What I won't tell you in words
is what I have to offer
That comes in my action's
solid proof of my intention's
I will explain what I want and need
and my high expectation's
If you feel it's unreasonable or
impossible to deliver such demands
please convey it
Don't try and hide it
Because You Won't change me
These things I tell and show you
are who I am
The good thing's about me
out weigh the flaws
but that's for you to realize
I won't mislead you
I won't promise what I can't deliver
So here I stand for you to see
open, exposed, and willing
if it's me you want
you must take all of me
not just what you can see
