A Fairytale about a man in a far far away country |
Once upon a time in a country far far away there lived a man. He was a very tall man. He lived in a big house near the woods and the water with his two collie dogs. He did not have a wife or a husband but that was ok because he was a traveller. He travelled al over the world to search for oil. Unfortunately he was not a very good searcher. The only oil fields he could find were already found by someone else. Despite this he never gave up and one morning he woke up with the sudden urge to travel again. He left his two dogs with his indian maid and went on his way. He drove and drove and drove until he came by a sign which said: 'Iduas, 50 kilometres'. He never was in Iduas, nobody ever was there unless it was completely necessary. Iduas used to be a beautiful country where all people and animals lived together in peace. This all changed when the Queen died. The Queen had two daughters. They were different as day and night, black and white, tall and small. The youngest one was friendly, sweet, funny and loved by anyone in the country. The oldest daughter however was the complete opposite. She was mean, ugly and totally evil. She was in fact so evil, she could let other people believe that she actually was very friendly. When the Queen died, everybody mourned. Life stopped for 30 days. At the end of the 30 days the sun started to shine again and people and animals came out of their houses and went to work. Life was back to normal. But there was one thing still not done: choosing a new Queen. Unlike in other countries the new Queen was not automatically the oldest one. She was chosen by the people. So both daughters started their campaign. The youngest one travelled all over the country and visited schools, hospitals, old people's homes, (animal) shelters. She meet all kinds of different people and she told anyone of them that she would want nothing more to make life better for everyone. The oldest daughter had a complety different approach. She lived on fear. Her biggest thrill was getting people scared of nothing. And now she had a masterplan;she wanted the people to be afraid of the most cute loveable animals there lived in Iduas: the wee fluffy animals. The wee fluffy animals had lived in peace with the people for ages and ages. She and her followers started rumours about wee fluffy animals with flaming eyes and guns riding on little motor cycles. What also helped was that she gave a big party with free food and drinks which included a poison which caused people to see the wee flurry animals from hell. People were getting more and more afraid. Then it was election-day. Long queues of people were standing outside each polling place. The voting went very close but despite of all her good efforts the youngest daughter lost. And the country was doomed to live in darkness and fear. The man sat in his car and thought about all this. Normally he would have turned around immediately but now he thought: 'whatever, I am gonna take the risk' and he went on his way................ So the man went on his way to Iduas. At first the road was surrounded by flowers and trees but to closer he got to Iduas, the darker and scarier it became. When he finally arrived in Iduas, it was complety dark and silent. Nobody was outside. Lucky enough, he brought a flashlight. He took his light and went out of the car. He started to knock on doors but nobody opened and the people who did shouted to him to go away and to leave him alone. He was getting more and more desperate. Was there not anybody who could tell him where to find oil?? Suddenly he saw a wee light. He walked towards the light and when he came nearer he could hear voices too. The light came out of a big blue house. He knocked on the door and the door was opened by a young woman. 'What is the secret password?' she said. Secret password?, the man thought. He knew nothing about a secret password. Uh....nevermind, he said and was already turning around when she said 'please come in'. Well,he thought, this must be my lucky day and he went inside. To his amazement the house was full of people. And not just people, also wee fluffy animals. 'Who are you?' he asked. 'We are the resistance' a women replied. 'We want to get rid of the evil queen and restore the good name of the wee fluffy animals'. That sounds like a wonderful idea, the man said but how are you planning to do that? Well, she said, we do not have many options. The only one we got is to go to the oil fields and get the God's Eclair, which is on an island in the middle of the fields. If we give everybody a piece of the Eclair they will get out of their trance of fear. But as the fields are surrounded by the Queens soldiers,it is very difficult to reach the island'. 'Not for me!' the man said. He went outside to his car and came back with a small black box. 'Let me introduce, he saId, to my wee helicopter!'. He opened the box and out came, indeed, a wee helicopter. Everybody was totally amazed. How are you gonna fly in that? a little boy asked. You see, that the man, this is not just a helicopter, this is helicopter with magic powers. It looks like it can carry just one person but actually it can carry all of you at once. No way! the boy shouted. Oh yes, said the man, wanna try? Ofcourse everybody wanted to see what he was talking about so they all went outside. The man put the helicopter on the ground and pushed a little red button on top of it. Suddenly the helicopter became bigger and bigger until it was as big as a normal helicopter. The man got in and sat down. Come on in! he said. People looked at each other confused but the little boy jumped in. Then the next person and the next and the next. until everyone was inside. From the outside it still looked like a normal helicopter but on the inside it was as big as a castle. 'Ok, let's go', the man said and up they went. They flew high in the sky and after 20 minutes they the oilfields. 'But what if the soldiers see us, they are gona shoot us down!'. No no, said the man and he pushed a button. 'Now we are invisible'. People were starting to cheer, this was all going very well. They were now flying above the oil fields. They could see the soldiers but the soldiers could not see them. Look there is the island, a girl pointed out. And there it was, it was glowing like the sun and in the middle they saw a big rock with on top the God's Eclair. How are we gonna get that? Let us do it, the wee fluffy animals said. That is the least we can do. The man put them in a huge basket with a parachute attached and let them out of the helicopter. What a heroes he thought and also so sweet and nice to cuddle with. The basket landed on top of the rock and the wee fluffy animals got out. Unfortunately the soldiers had noticed that something was happening and they started to shoot. Sadly a lot of wee fluffy animals died on that day, the day that is still known as the day of the battle for the God's Eclair. The ones that came out alive carefully lifted the God's Eclair and put it in the basket. It was a matter of life and death now as the got the robe that was thrown out of the helicopter to lift them up again. It were scary moments but they managed to reach it safely. People started clapping and cheering as the wee fluffy animals got into the helicopter. They flew back to town and delivered the Eclair to the Queens cook who was actually a spy for the resistance. He started to prepare the food and put in every dish a wee bit of the God's Eclair. There was a big party that night where all the people were invited to. Except for the resistance the people were moody and sad. But when they started to eat it suddenly became lighter and people were laughing and feeling happy. The evil queen had no clue what was happening but she decided not to wait for the answer because people started throwing things at her and she ran and ran and ran and was never ever seen again. After she was gone here younger sister was crowned Queen. People were dancing and singing along with all the animals. Most cheered on were the man and the wee fluffy animals. Everybody wanted to cuddle them and thought, they are so cute, how could anyone but afraid of that? The next day after a good night of sleep the man drove home again. He was very happy because the people had decided to give him the oil fields as a thank you present. Now if he wanted to travel he could just do it for a holiday. The man, his two dogs and all his wee fluffy animals lived happily ever after. |
