Broken Heart Cure

I once uncovered the words
To share my unfailing love
What I am is all I know
And what I feel is what I show
But you brushed me off
Without giving me a chance
Tearing my heart open
Without a second glance
Leaving a hole in my core
Shaped by rejection
I don’t want to feel anymore
If I can’t feel your affection

I need a broken heart cure
For the distress I face
Each passing day is worse
I could do without the ache
I wish you could feel my pain
This pain you introduced me to
On cold winter days
I can feel the wind blow through

On the surface I am alive
But I’m dead inside
Because you put a hole in my heart
Through the whole of my heart
I’d rather die a thousand lives
Than suffer this pain inside
