In the Beginning...................

Our friendship lasted 21 years.........then something went terribly awry.

In the Beginning

Friendship to me
is like a marriage,
you have to work
at it everyday.
Friendship is trusting,
being there, caring
& sharing secrets with
someone you love.
I valued this friend.

We had heart to heart talks
in the wee morning hours.
My friend was a friend,
In the Beginning........
She took me on a journey
down many different PATHS.

I know I became brutally
honest with her as time
went by. Prying into her life
I asked questions that she
was not willing to answer.
She did not know who she was,
I knew she had extreme
intelligence, charismatic,
funny without knowing it.

Trying to understand where
she was coming from and how
could I help? Years later
she was still the same, but
I was changing.....didn't
know "me" anymore.

Had to end the friendship.
Lost myself you see.
I didn't know who she was.
Certainly didn't know me.
