Many believe my kind, the Nosferatu, cannot love and be loved in return. I proved them wrong. I tell you now a story about me and my beloved, Isabella.
I had first seen her at a masquerade ball. She was dressed as a peacock and looked positively stunning in the royal blue and emerald greens of her gown. I was drawn to her beauty like a moth to a flame.
I watched her whirl through the room until she was but a hairsbreadth away. She smiled and instead of merely glancing by, as she had done to so many others, she met and held my gaze. She acccepted my offer of a dance, all the while calmly locking my eyes. We stepped together and waltzed to the center of the room, never looking away. Her serene green eyes and my icy blue never wavered away. The strange and intense trance we shared was broken by a large applause as the song ended.
I bowed and gently kissed her hand and whispered, "Le plaisir était toute mine.the pleasure was all mine."
"Le français ? Vous sont ? Bien que votre accent est étrange, french? are you? though your accent is strange" she answered her accent flawless.
I laughed softly and allowed my self to disappear into the crowd. I watched her search for her mysterious partner until she gave up and walked away.
I soon found myself by the drinks and , even though I didn't need it, took a glass of bloodred wine and pretended to sip it carefully. I watched the other guests dancing and let my mind wander to the beautiful lady I danced with.
I turn to a man beside me and ventured,"It is fine ball isn't it?"
He turned,"Indeed Madame Bouvier throws wonderful parties."
