Short and descriptive.

The Lady
entered through the left-side
curtain, just after spring began her act;
and though I had seen her many times
before, I never noticed the simple fact.

She sang
a song for sweet repose,
the peaceful beauty of youth mature,
with softened features clear
defined, against the backdrop of nature.

For eternity,
it seemed to last, that long-drawn,
peaceful melody. but all
things soon must come to pass,
and so the play went on.
