some days are like that
'Round and 'round
going in circles;
traveling, but staying put;
Movement, yet static,
a merry-go-round in life.

Forward or back,
energy exerted;
pumping legs endlessly,
only going nowhere;
a swing trying to hold one's history.

Highs and lows,
sometimes gentle, others, a crash landing,
Trying to hold on,
to not be jolted or wrenched
a teeter-totter way of surviving.

To be a balloon,
released from a child's grip;
floating along gently,
aiming for the sky;
caught in the trees of despair.
