A reminder that hope is something we pass forward, one small act at a time. Pass it on.

Light the Way was written as a gentle reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be grand to be life-changing. So many people move through their days carrying invisible weight — grief they don’t speak about, fear they don’t want to share, hope that flickers a little weaker every morning. We rarely see those battles, but we often pass the people fighting them.

This poem is about the small things that matter more than we think: a smile, a moment of eye contact, a shared breath of compassion, a simple act of noticing. It’s about choosing to slow down long enough to look at another human being and say, in your own quiet way, You aren’t alone.

Every line is a call to be the spark — the lantern — in someone else’s dark. Because even the tiniest light can guide someone back to themselves. We never know when our kindness is the thing that helps another soul steady their steps, lift their head, or find their way home again.

And that, more than anything, is why this poem exists: to remind us that hope is something we pass forward, one small act at a time.

Light the Way
—by Tee M.

Someone feels lost in the dark—
aching for even a flickering spark.
A little light might be enough…
Will you share your day, your love?

Could you pause your hurried pace
and meet a stranger face to face?
Are you too rushed to read the signs—
that someone’s drowning, between the lines?

Have you ever felt the strain,
like your chest can’t hold the pain?
Then you know how much it means
to hear kind words in quiet scenes.

Someone feels lost in the dark—
aching for even a flickering spark.
A little light might be enough…
Will you share your day, your love?

Perhaps you could strike a match
against the dusk of someone’s ache,
or hum a tune that finds a crack
in silence only grief can make.

Just a moment. Just one glance—
a breath, a break, a second chance.
To stop and offer what you can
might help someone begin to stand.

Be the lantern—let love burn.
A heart once lost might now return.
A soul once silent starts to cope,
drawn by your small, enduring hope.
