A letter to myself about what my goals are for 2026!

Dear Me,

Your first goal is to become a better writer. You joined WDC in October and you certainly have been given some great advice. Keep pushing on and keep learning. You should keep giving back by staying in your goal of at least one review of a WDC member every day.

You have made some friends on WDC and you should be more supportive of those friends. To do that you have set a goal of reading from at least one friend’s portfolio item every day.

You need to work on your portfolio. Make the time to post 2 items in your portfolio a month. That does not include your daily blog posts or the images that you post. Make it a poem, a story or an article.

Have the first two books of the Soulwalker Saga completed by December 1, 2026. And you have four other stories/books in the fire finish at least one of those by July. It doesn’t have to be completely finished and polished but at least the full first draft.

Take the time to enter four WDC contests. Just to be inclusive and supportive. Maybe one a quarter.

Finish the research for the journal project and write six articles for education and edification of the changes in publishing. Set up several more interviews with editors being affected by the changes.

You need to finish that web page that is giving you fits. Go on and hire someone to get it done. It is taking too much of your mental worry and even if you don’t launch it until 2027 you need to feel comfortable with the plan. Do it!

Setting goals doesn’t have to be about doing more and you should decided how many times to post on the social media blogs a month and stick to that goal. If once a month isn’t working for you try twice a month. You owe it to your fans.

I know you hate to spend so much time with e-mail but writing back needs to be a priority. Set some time restrictions and make it happen. I know you can do it.

Give yourself a break. You have a tendency to expect more from yourself than is humanly possible. When an author needs your input and edits you can give yourself more time to get the edits done. You can give yourself a break and if you don’t meet your posting goals just make it up. No one but you is going to be disappointed.

Always take the time to give an encouraging word when you have the chance, let God lead the way, and cherish every day. Remember LOVE is always the most important thing.

Love always,
Tee
