Courteous and optimistic, and engendering needed changes - a nice poem about our leaders. |
| Bold letters, written in a legislative framework. Constituents authenticating A U.S. constitution and literacy In beefy, magnanimous outcries; Grownups identifying the end Of the Trump years With a determined and profligate extraction Of unlawful trials And morose litigation. Houses of leadership Acting like a Houdini, Escaping from an underwater Glass tank In handcuffs And shackles; An emasculated society Seeking justice from primitive foundations Such as direction and focus - Controlling hyenas and straits Through fox-like wherewithal. A bushy-eyed sentinel Scaling the peaks of profundity, Inhabiting prescient lockers And gyms With adulated clemency; Monikered housewives Banging the next level Of authority like air guitars At a rock festival - Inhaling tear gas canisters And hurling ice and obscenities At arresters of illegal rapists And pedophiles. Newly elected officials Calling for free everything In a technologically advanced And innovative, Preliminary science and scope Of artificial intelligence And social media interactions And learning; And a rubber ducky Laying sudsy and undeterred, As bathers lounge in their private tub Of bathwater - An age of ambitious targets For young and old To recoil and face head-on, Fathoming the latest reckonings And pulse-pounding revelations - Quelled by political unrest And foreign manipulations In seriously deadly And sometimes sapient, Articulated, vengeful attacks On freedom and civility - Harboring heavy-handed tactics, Excruciating suppression of women, gays, And trans, And appalling, anti-American strategies Toward world and global domination. |
