This poem is an acknowledgment of that gentle healing found walking by the Ocean.

Walk and Listen

She walks where the shoreline softens the land,
With sorrow and questions held close in her hand.
The day has grown heavy, the night came too fast,
Her heart still bears weight from the shadows of the past.

The wind knows her name as it lifts through her hair,
The sea hums a song meant only for her there.
Each step leaves a print, then is taken away,
As worries the tide teaches gently to stay.

She listens to waves as they rise and they fall,
A rhythm that asks her for nothing at all.
No answers required, no truths to defend,
Just water and breathing and moments to mend.

The sand cools her feet, the sun turns to gold,
The ocean stands steady, ancient and old.
It sings without words, this sea, this sand,
She rests in the knowing her heart understands.

She walks, and the world loosens its hold,
While oceans keep singing what hearts have been told.

Author’s Note

This poem is about solitude as comfort rather than loneliness.

It reflects a quiet moment when the world feels heavy and words are no longer useful, and the ocean becomes a steady presence instead of an answer. The woman walking the shoreline is not searching for solutions. She is listening, letting the rhythm of the waves carry what she cannot.

For me, the ocean has always been a place where grief softens, thoughts slow, and breathing finds its way back to center. This poem is an acknowledgment of that gentle healing, the kind that doesn’t rush or demand anything in return.

Thanks for reading.
God Bless and Kind Wishes,
Tee
