Valentine Flash Fiction Contest

The Prompt: Write a comical first meeting between a boy and a girl using the following three words: Cheese Puffs, Hockey, and Money.

300 Words

There was a young boy who met a young girl. The young girl's name was Henrietta. He noticed her one day while she was snacking on cheese puffs. She ate those cheese puffs slowly, delicately, and gently. Each one of them was eaten like she had a purpose for doing so. She slidded them softly through her mouth, savoring each one for that special moment. She knew Valentine's Day would be special. She would get her first kiss. Without fail, she dreamt about this exciting event during the day and night.

The young boy's name was Alejaundro. Alejaundro was very romantic. Everyone at school thought that he was Cupid. He would shoot little bitty arrows at all the likable young girls. The girls got all dreamy-eyed when they saw him. They were certain that Alejaundro would be the man they would one day marry. They went wild with excitement over him. Using their flirty eyes, they knew they would get shot with little bitty arrows. The competition for his hand in marriage was on. Who would the lucky girl be, they wondered? With confidence, they said, "I will win."

The lucky winner would get to see the big hockey game being played in their area. They would win a grand prize with a large amount of money. Henrietta was chosen as the lucky girl of his romantic dreams. She would use her money to sponsor cheese puffs at the hockey game. Who would even think that? The girls teased her by calling her a real cheesy person, or a real cheese. She became a trillionaire who lived in the most luxurious place in their town.
