Don't pull that string...a poem

Found a string pulled along
Walking backward through the day
The world pulled, turned inside out
Twisting all the way

Side walk! Tide in knots!
Trees wrapped to and fro
Wipe out! Watch out!
Crawl the way you go

It's a world in waves
Ripples and strange
It's a world in rays
Tears and frays

Blue sky rip intween
along at the seems
Black stars fall down!
Striking rusted beams
The ground tore pieces!
Brackets beneath
Black ink pools neatly
Along the streets

It's a world in waves
Ripples and strange
It's a world in rays
Tears and frays

Who knows now
How to stitch this thing together
Don't pull threads
Under any weather
Time stands still
While I try and glue it
Torn it still
While I stitched it through it!

Don't pull that string!
Don't pull that string!

Now beams bent back
But there's still ripples
Boards cover cracks
But they still trippin
Watch where you go
One street its sunny
One street has snow
It still looks funny.
Day and night
Depends on where you live
Cross a red light
Change four seasons in the split
The faults all mine
Some people say
String left laid bare
Was begging for a tug, a play

It's a world in waves
Ripples and strange
It's a world in rays
Tears and frays

It's a world in waves
Ripples and strange
It's a world in rays
Tears and frays

Don't pull that string!
Don't pull that string!
