Christopher Tin's friend Sid Meier's Civilization IV is a turn-based strategy computer game... It's the graphics of the video in "Track 15: Baba Yetu... (Linear break!)" . An amazing song, Swahili for The Lord's Prayer melodize the entire song. But the graphics from the video game are compiled in this video that are just so, and just so breathtaking. It may not be how the actual structures were physically, realistically created but it sure is cool to see it happen in pixels. Just look at this Cover! Tin has an album out now... I'm looking for it on his website. The two guys are crazy awesome. I don't know what else to write about other than that. Over and out. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |

16: The broom closet So the king of 30 – day blogging challenge has asked each of us to talk about a unique shop. The shop that I want to talk about is called Charmed. I don't really know much about it. So I'm going to take the opportunity of this prompt,And I'm going to learn more about it. I know it sells charms, New Age books and self-help doodads, and cards made by local artists. I've spoke to employees there a few times about what certain things mean. At one point, in the middle the shop, they had a table with a deck of cards spread out face down on top. On the sides of the cards that were showing was just simple star or pentagram design (though, I don't really remember the details). Then, when you picked one up, it had a picture of a thing on the other side with a brief description. Next to the layout of cards was a book that explained each card. The worker prompted me to read up on the card I chose. The card I picked was mud. And in the book Mud was all about renewing, transforming, that kind of thing. Which made me think of two of my tattoos. I have one on my left forearm. The tattoo is of the tree holding a crucified stylized body wrapped around a bio-hazard symbol. It doesn't really symbolize transforming renewing but in a way it does all of those things--symbolically. The tattoo on my left upper arm, is more obvious as a t r a n s f o r m a t i o n a l I picked up from the tattoos and the Mud card that because of all the emotional, mental, hormonal, medical, physical changes that I've been going through recently, I am going through a chrysalis--a transformation. It may not be as obvious as a gluttonous Caterpillar exploding into a butterfly, but It's Mine. That being said. I am pretty interested in these types of shops. The "witchcraft "shops. The New Age shops. They'll all interest me. Maybe one day they'll have something else available for me to figure out another piece of the puzzle that is me. Until then, I'm going to see what I can google-research! |
12: White Dworf... It's simple really, easy enough to fix. Silly Taz goofed so I'll add a line to the mix. It's spelled with an a, like the word day, but doesn't sound anything like them, hey It's fine, it's great, it's a simple mistake We can all celebrate human with cake. What it's supposed to be I don't know. But I googled it up and it started to show That Dwarves that are white are up high Easy to see when the night sun is nigh There's many around the deep black abyss they're stars, my friends, but the hit's a miss. 13: Nursery Ryght Tyme... It’s simple enough to do And nothing at all to prove Just got to find your Swoove. Hold a little shrub in your fist Add swoops with a flocky wrist It can be great even looking like … THIS!!! It’s simple enough to do But please don’t use your pooh Go find what truly moves you! 14: Young Love... The Judds - Young Love ▼ Tanya Tucker - Two Sparrows In A Hurricane ▼ I don't really have a lot of experiences that have ended well, I have plenty that ended and now I see it as "all's well" ... but in the moment nothing is worse, nothing can get better when you lose a love that couldn't withstand the weather... And these two songs remind me of the phrase of Young Love. So take a listen and post a comment below... My heart is still young so every love I have is as well. The one I'm in now I am looking at the world through the same stupid Rose Colored glasses that I did the very first time. And I don't even want to stop and realize anything remotely real because I'm deathly afraid of being mature enough to be alone. And maybe that's how my life is meant to be, just don't tell me that. Please, let me dream and wander around with my head on cloud nine and my heart on my sleeve and my hand in his, just for a little while more. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** WIPs: "Invalid Item" "Invalid Item" "Invalid Item" "Invalid Item" Recent Activity: "Goals as of 2/9/15" |
** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Track 11 - '94 TLC - Waterfalls - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WEtxJ4-sh4 This song came out when I was like ten years-old and I didn't have enough life behind me to realize what the song really meant. The more I listened to TLC through the decade and beyond, the more I understood the song. And I definitely don't think of the song as upbeat or cool anymore, like I once did. I think of it as a satire to how the world was and still, kind of, is. But I think you're moving too fast... Now AIDES and HPV are almost common to hear about, and getting more and more regular to know someone who has either or both. I don't know what to think about the ... situation is becoming more epidemic [rap break] So Satire, it's really not even ... not even the slightest good feeling... I guess that is what it means to grow up. Track 12 - '95 Michael Jackson - You Are Not Alone - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAyKJAtDNCw Another one of those songs that don't seem as beautiful in the childish memories I have of this. You Are Not Alone ... I Am Here With You, Though We're Far Apart, You're Always In My Heart, But You Are Not Alone And When I get into the song and sing along with Michael's beautiful voice (other than ruining it), I get a hold of the same kind of emotion that I think that he was trying to portray through the melody, harmony and words. I think the three words that he's talking about is: "I Need You," though it could also mean anything really. I was surprised to see the song on the top of the list of my search on google for "famous songs of 1995" (and now you all know my secret...) But I am definitely grateful. This song makes me think of my now boyfriend, who is very much a part of my not feeling alone anymore. And to him: Thanks, baby. Track 13 - '96 Eric Clapton - Change The World - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x11NA63gLDM If I could reach the starts, bring one down for you... IT really IS a sweet song about love. I really don't like typical love songs but this is Eric Clapton, who doesn't like Clapton? OK, Don't Answer That! I just want to take a second and apologize for the lack of formatting in this entry. I am just trying to get through these fairly quickly tonight, since I am always playing catch up... If I could CHANGE that! Ha! I would like to post to prompts on time, even knowing it's not exactly a strict rule, just... you know. I would just like to not put it off until I have a few bunched together. *** So I had to name the entry and I just didn't want to type in Tracks to Life 11-13, because that is just overdone already in this silly thing. "Water Changes You" which I think it truly does in the literal sense of the phrase, not just as a mash up of the song titles of the post, but as a legit statement. Water changes you. Makes you healthier, so if you don't do it--You should try to up your intake to another glass a day! And WALA! Water changes you! |
I like having a prompt when my creativity needs a boost, and it doesn't have to be much. The right "what if" question can provide enough ammunition to last hours and hours of pure pantsing fun. Longer prompts are not really my thing, I like making my own idea (spark) out of a prompt (match). But everyone is different and there are some neat prompts around here that spark contestants into a frenzy and help people discover their voice. I suppose i'm still learning what voice I have as a writer. I like writing my own prompts. They are definitely fun to do. Especially when I am not worried about whether or not I am going to actually share or follow up with them and make them into stories. So... When it comes to prompts on WDC I like the "The Writer's Cramp - Poetry Week" [13+] , "The Prompt Me Contest" [13+] , and even "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" [13+] So there you have it... |
Track 10 ('93) Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do I love the stories in this song. Sheryl is excellent at telling stories in songs. An art that's dying hard in today's popular music culture. A sad fact. Absolute stupidity has been unleashed into the world with the level of talent that's being utilized verses the talent that is just wasted. I mean there are still good songs out, but not many. All I wanna do is have a little fun before I die... ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** WIPs: Untitled - 0k:50k (1st Draft) Grams & Apple Trees Illustrated Insanity |
While regardless of driving ability of the person, anyone behind the wheel other than me makes me nervous. I know completely why, too. And I'll tell you why.. Control.. It's simple. I have ZERO control over the future motions of the vehicle at stake and this worries me to no end, because only I know that I am trying to be a good driver, a good defensive driver. My dad constantly warned me about other drivers on the road while you were trying to drive safely, so he suggested (every time) to drive as though I was invisible. Not invincible. INVISIBLE. So that's what I do. But I can't make someone ELSE drive as though they were invisible. And I sure as heck can't stop them from driving as though they were invincible either. And that's scary. And you know what is even SCARIER? When the person you are driving with, the person you have so graciously (or not) have given up all control of the hap-stance of your life for a little while, happens to openly and honestly tell you that they should have gotten their glasses fixed or checked or redone or updated. THIS IS SCARY! Might as well be driving with a blind mouse. Ya know their little sticks can only reach so far and are not very helpful at 60 miles per hour on open road. To up the ante a bit more, THIS ACTUALLY happened to me RECENTLY. I have yet to spend time with the person in question since. I'm not really all that hardcore into Video Games, never was. Though If you weren't into games at all, you might think that I was. For Sure. I have played World of Warcraft since a week after release in November of 2005. Though, it is an on-again off-again love-hate relationship, I still play from time to time, especially after/at expansion (critical updates to everything important in the world of World of Warcraft). The things That I like about it... aIT's an MMORPG, for those of you who do not know gaming jargon, that means many people play it (MM-mass multiplayer) online (that's the O...) and it's also in the category of Role Playing Game (Rpg=)) Get it? Good.=) (TO BE CONTINUED LATER) |
