Have you seen the movie Son of God? I finally got the chance to watch it last night. And, I have to admit that it really struck me hard. We always hear that Jesus bore our shame and died on the cross. His blood poured out and it covers our sin. We hear about a sacrifice, and we hear about the miracle of his resurrection. We hear about all these things, but we never saw it in person. I guess that's where faith comes in. We walk by faith and not by sight right?

Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." -- John 20:29.

I can't imagine what it must have been like to see Jesus face to face. To be in his presence, I can't begin to imagine how wonderful it would be. However, we weren't left without anything. We were given the Holy Spirit as a helper. We aren't separated from God the way we once were. Once we choose to follow him, and give ourselves to Him, we become his children, and with that comes an unbreakable connection with him. We don't have to follow strict rituals and come to him through a third party. We are given the opportunity to come to God whenever we want to. It's an amazing blessing but also something I think we tend to take for granted. Or, at least I know I am guilty of that. We become complacent and don't realize that we've hit a level of comfort that we like.

Watching Son of God hit me with the reality of what Jesus did for us. I still can't fully wrap my head around it, but then again maybe we can't as humans. I'm tired of being comfortable. I am tired of being complacent. It's not what we were created for. God chose to create us for a reason. God breathed life into us for a purpose, and I want to find out what that is. This is my journey and I want to be able to look back one day and see where I came from. I suppose that's the real reason I am keeping this blog.

God Bless,
Shana

In all honesty, I'm not a great blogger. I get distracted, busy, and forget to post things, so please forgive me in advance.

So, what is this blog about? That's a fantastic question! I haven't entirely figured out the direction it will go in, but it will be a collection of my thoughts, musings, inspirations, and anything else that comes to mind.

Let me introduce myself. Hello! My name is Shana, I'm 25 years old, and have an addiction to pumpkin spice flavorings. I was born in Idaho but raised in Montana. For those who don't know much about Montana, that's okay because there isn't much to know. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful and amazing state. But, not much happens there. Well, unless you are Evel Knievel or buffalo. I've lived overseas in Pakistan for six months before moving back to the states. I currently reside in Louisiana and live with my adopted family. I have a rambunctious five year old sister who keeps me on my toes.

It was in Montana that I was in two bad car accidents when I was 11 years old and 13 years old. God saved me and gave me another chance at life. I am eternally grateful for that.

I love everything Batman, Superhero, Doctor Who, reading, and writing. Hmm okay I think that is all for now. I will stop boring you! *Smile*

God Bless,
Shana
